Extra Information This was a sub-library of Breitkopf & Härtels Klavier-Bibliothek edited by Anton Krause. The pieces in the series were arranged (in the view of the editor) in order of difficulty. One of Krause's goals with the series was to provide sufficient guidance for performance of works for multiple pianos, through an appropriate amount of fingerings, pedal markings, etc. Note that Krause's Forward to the Sonata for 2 Pianos, Op.17 seems to be referring to his earlier collection entitled Jugendbibliothek (for piano 4 hands) from 1881; that Forward was likely added by accident by the publisher.
