Talk:Rondo in B-flat major, WoO 6 (Beethoven, Ludwig van)

Orchestral score.

Hi. I was just wondering whether anyone knew anything about the history of this piece. I do know that it's believed to have been originally intended as the finale to Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto, before it was replaced with a new finale. But did Beethoven himself do the orchestration of this Rondo, or did he just write it in the piano version that appears here?

I have heard it performed by piano and orchestra, so the orchestral version does exist - but I'm wondering whether Beethoven made this version, or whether it was done by someone else. And was the orchestral full score ever published?

If anyone can shed light on these questions, I would be very interested to hear from them. And I would like to see the orchestral full score posted here, if that is possible.

Thanks. M.J.E. 15:39, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Possibly not the same rondo for piano and orchestra, or even if so, some accounts I think sensibly put the "may" have been originally intended...especially since it seems that the manuscript of this rondo in B WoO 6 is in any case lost and the score exists only in an edition by Czerny- of which some amount may be, of course, pure Czerny.
