Navigation etc.

The work is a tone poem based on the non-existing tale of Karpel the hero. The six movements bear separate titles which indicate the key events of the fictional story: Introduction - By the riverside - Karpel and Molia - Stormy times - The death of the sergeant - Karpel goes home. Beyond that, it is the task of the audience to imagine what actually happens. Because of the absence of an actual other artwork as inspiration, it is not to be viewed as a tone poem in common sense, but rather as a tribute to the great romantic era and its values which seem to have fallen into oblivion during the past decades: heroism, love of nature, true love and self-sacrifice.
