The Firebird, K010 (Stravinsky, Igor)

It is very unlikely that this work is public domain in the EU, or in any country where the copyright term is life-plus-70 years. However, it is in the public domain in Canada (where IMSLP is hosted) and other countries where the term is life-plus-50 years (such as China, Japan, Korea and many others worldwide). As this work was first published before 1927 or failed to meet notice or renewal requirements to secure statutory copyright with no "restoration" under the GATT amendments, it is very likely to be public domain in the USA as well.

Misc. Notes *The German rights for The Firebird were the subject of a ca.1925 lawsuit between Stravinsky, Chester, Schott and Robert Forberg (who won the case). Schott did not acquire the German rights until much later in the 20th century. According to Fuld (p.143), Jurgenson produced at least some engraved parts bearing the plate number 36022 (ca.1912) along with a copyist's full score and manuscript parts formerly owned by Serge Diaghilev which are presently held at the Morgan Library
