Hi. I am an self-taught orchestrator from Hong Kong.

I started learning British marching percussion when I was in primary school. At the age of 10, I started learning concert percussion. My orchestral experience was mainly concert band during the few years that followed. I started getting into orchestral music when I was 13. My first concert band piece was the 4th movement of Alfred Reed’s 2nd Suite, the first full piece was Philip Sparkes’ Hymn of the Highlangs, the first orchestral piece was Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony.

I started orchestrating by arranging music for percussion ensemble when I was 14, then into arranging orchestral music for concert band not long after that. My first orchestra arrangement was done when I was 17. And now (2022) I am 26.

I have been learning piano in parallel of all those percussion and band stuff, but it was never brilliant. Enough for me to build up an multiphonic ear, but that's pretty much it.

I am a native Hongkonger. I speak native Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.

So there. Hi.
