Dear VHoroJr, Do you have written permission from the Horowitz estate to post the Horowitz Carmen Variations here? If not, this will have to be deleted very soon. Thanks, Carolus 13:56, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

I Apologize

The Editor put no copyright on the score, and I assumed it was P.D. If there's a way for me to delete it myself, then I'd like to know what it is. I also would like to know if I can rename any files that I've already uploaded as well.

I'll take care of deleting the Horowitz. There is not a very easy way to re-name a file, though you can replace a file that you've uploaded. What are the files you wish to re-name? Thanks, Carolus 16:00, 10 July 2008 (EDT)

The Other File

There's one new file which I've added to the G. Holst section. I should've marked the Original Piano Version of The Planets as "Mars: The Bringer of War (Original for Two Pianos)".

This is a 1991 edition by Imogen Holst which is not public domain in Canada (or anywhere else, for that matter). Although the orchestra version (pub. 1921) is free, the composer's two-piano version was only issued in 1949 and is therefore not free in the USA. If you could find a 1949 printing of Holst's two-piano version, we could post it since it is PD in Canada. There is also a two-piano arrangement by a Holst student named Vally Lasker who lived into the 1960s which is not free in Canada. Keep in mind that Canada's term is life-plus-50 years, except for posthumous publications which are publication-plus-50. Carolus 14:18, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

The Other File Cont.

Strange. I've been able to download all movements from vkgfx.com/scores, under the link "Holst". I've been trying to find out who runs it, but can't. They didn't put their name after the site's main-page introductory note.

They probably don't have permission to post this. One can go to any of several sites in Russia, where copyright laws are apparently only observed in the breach, and download Samuel Barber (d.1981) scores, Philip Glass, etc. IMSLP is much stricter about copyright observance than many other similar sites.
