1854 seems unlikely as a first publication date, so late in Mayer's career. Though it does say "Charles Mayer Jr." on the score (nota bene!)- maybe it's an early work by his son, in which case 1854 makes perfect sense but it's by a different composer and should be moved from here forthwith...
