Welcome to the International Music Score Library Project! IMSLP attempts to create a virtual library containing all public domain musical scores, as well as scores from composers who are willing to share their music with the world without charge. You can read the full list of goals that IMSLP will try to achieve.

IMSLP also encourages the exchange of musical ideas, both in the form of musical works, and in the analysis of existing ones. Therefore, feel free to create/edit a page with your analysis of a particular piece (please use the "Discussion" link on the work page of that particular piece).

News

January 2 - We enter 2009 with 24,000 scores! Exactly six months after reopening, the library has grown by 100%. Some composers and editors enter public domain this year, among which Harney, Godowsky, Vaughan Williams, Handy, Schmitt, and Philipp.
December 1 - 23,000 scores, less than a month from the previous milestone!
November 30 - 13,000 works have scores in the Petrucci Music Library
November 23 - Please help the Petrucci Music Library get rid of all text and links reffering to SMA, as discussed on the forums. If you have released your music to the IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library under a non-commercial Creative Commons Licences, the SMA may be violating your copyright; please contact the site.
November 15 - The bh2000 archive has been completely uploaded to the Petrucci Music Library, completing another important project.
November 3 - The first and most important project of the Petrucci Music Library is now finally completed: the Bach-Gesellschaft Ausgabe has completely been sorted and uploaded, apart from a few pages missing. Thanks to all contributors!

Contributing

IMSLP needs your help! Visit the Contributor Portal to learn about contributing to IMSLP. The IMSLP forums are open to anyone for discussions about IMSLP and music in general.

Contributing: You can contribute by simply participating in the growth of this wiki by sharing your knowledge in music with others. If you have old sheet music on your shelves, or public domain sheet music on your hard disk, consider sharing them with the rest of the world by uploading it to IMSLP! You can also help importing public domain scores from other websites. Please refer to the score contributing guide for details.

Projects: The aims of our Community Projects are to acquire collections of works from inactive archives, to identify their contents, and to preserve them for the future. As of the moment, one of the main projects of IMSLP is the sorting and uploading of the Bach-Gesellschaft Ausgabe (complete works).

Other Tasks: There are several ways of helping IMSLP, apart from contributing scores. You can help e.g. with the website maintenance, translation of IMSLP, or support IMSLP financially.
