Piece Style Classical
Instrumentation unknown
Manuscript Sources Overture to Johann Vogel's Demophon which begins the same way (incipit-wise). How sure are we that there is a Weigl opera Demofonte, and that its "existence" isn't just an artifact of the title page of this arrangement, which might be a misattribution - of an arrangement of the Vogel opera overture?

Navigation etc.

Metastasio's libretto Demofonte inspired over 70 operas to be written for it. However, there is none by this title listed in Grove Music's work list for Joseph Weigl. This page is tagged generically with undetermined instrumentation for now.
