Does the date 1851 come from early references to an F major piano concerto? Rubinstein did compose an F major piano concerto - another one- that was performed in 1852 but was lost (Taylor guesses it was in a trunk of Rubinstein's that was confiscated - during travel?). The one performed in 1852 (which might be related to this one, though; perhaps this is an attempt at reconstructing it?) is not this one, anyhow, I think.. - Schissel (On second thought, those early concertos are from 1847, 1849 and 1850.)
Publication first announced in Monatsbericht (1858), p.135 The arrangement for two pianos was announced on page 137.
Possibly premiered? under Vieuxtemps' baton in 1852-2-23 (Ginzburg, Vieuxtemps, page 170.)
