Originally composed for orchestra to serve as incidental music for a play entitled Thunderbird by Norman Bel Geddes. The play was never staged. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the suite for orchestra was premiered by the Los Angeles Philharmonic on Jan. 9, 1917. Have been unable to determine if the orchestral version was ever published.
