Navigation etc.

During ca.1915–26, Nielsen worked with the genre 'folkelig' (folk-like) song. The earliest of his collections, which are a result of this activity, is Tyve folkelige Melodier published in December 1921. Of the twenty songs, five had previously been published and fifteen were newly composed. The composition of the songs took place while he was also working on his contributions to Folkehøjskolens Melodibog, published in 1922.
