Notes On various pieces of evidence, it seems Ms Els[s]ler was the dancer and -may- have composed the arrangement, but just as soon this may be an unattributed guitar arrangement (which may or may not be the original instrumentation of the work- that it probably isn't is suggested by the later date of the work?) HMB gives the arrangement as anonymous, not Ms Els[s]ler's.

From a ballet called La Gipsy (or The Gypsy, or La Bohémienne). The music is probably not by Elssler, but perhaps by Gide.

Schunke's Op.47 in 1837, btw, is "Rondo espagnol sur la Cachucha, dansée p. Mlle. F. Elsler dans le Ballet du Diable boiteux de C. Gide".
