Authorship Note
First published as Three Sonatas, Op.40 by Haydn, when only B.430 is actually Haydn's. B.428-29 are likely by Pleyel,
though the attribution disputed by some scholars.

Grove Music calls these keyboard "trios" (and the first publication under Haydn's name used that title), although Pleyel use the title "Sonatas".
