The first edition of the version with piano accompaniment was published in parallel in 1856 by G.Brandus, Dufour & Cie. in Paris and André in Offenbach (both publishers named one another on the title pages). According to their title pages, both publishers also published an ‘Edition difficile sans accompagnement Op.32, No.3bis’ (Brandus) and ‘arrangé pour violon seul par l’Auteur’ (André) of the third piece ‘La Chasse’. This version of La Chasse for Violin solo was performed for the first time in Paris on 11 August 1855 by Vieuxtemps (Revue et Gazette Musicale, Paris, 19 August 1855, p.260). Later he wrote a version of La Chasse for solo violin with wind accompaniment, which he performed at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Société de Chant in his hometown of Verviers on 9 September 1861 (L’ Indépendance Belge, Brussels, 9 September 1861, p.3). Here he also named the work for the first time in the subtitle as Impromptu. The version of La Chasse for violin and winds was not published until 2024. The autograph is preserved at the Bibliothèque royale de Belgique
