This small firm published from 1877 to at least 1914, based in Potschappel, now a suburb of Dresden. It was preceded by Bellmann & Co. (1867-77). Another, possibly related, Bellmann & Co. functioned in Kiel from 1873.

The major part of its catalogue was popular pieces for piano, choir, wind band or flute.
