While this song is traditionally attributed to Giuseppe Giordani, scholar John Glen Paton proposes that it is actually by Tommaso Giordani in his book 26 Italian Songs And Arias: An Authoritative Edition Based On Authentic Sources.
The Nanki Library copy is bound in a volume of publications by Tommaso Giordani, which may reinforce this notion.
