Christian Preetzmann was a Danish jurist and poet who wrote under the pseudonym Caralis. He served as mayor of Nibe from 1870 to 1879 after a prior career in Copenhagen's police administration. Alongside his legal work, he published poetry and produced several English-to-Danish translations. The pseudonym Caralis is often incorrectly assigned to Caspare/Caspara Preetzmann (1789–1876), a Danish female painter.
