  • Brother of composers Franz Maria D'Alquen (1804-1877) and Friedrich D'Alquen (1809-1887).
  • Born and lived in Mulheim am Rhein (now a suburb of Cologne), where he practised medicine from 1824. Posthumously his songs were popular.
