Possibly more interesting than his compositions is his vita, see infos/anecdotes in Douglas Back: Hispanic-American Guitar, Mel Bay, 2003, p. 13ff. Born in Reus, Spain as child of a wealthy aristocrat, he left his homeland and ... (see Douglas Back!) came via Mexico to the United States. 3 of his 11 children were composers: Antonio, Mary (Maria) and Fernando.
