- Detailed biography: The De la Pierre family counts many musicians like : Paul de la Pierre, born in Avignon (France) (bap. 7 Jan 1612), established himself in Turin (Italy) ca. 1662, where he died around 1689.
According to Davitt Moroney, M. de la Pierre le vieux is probably Monsieur Paul de la Pierre who had several children: M. de la Pierre L'ésné (l'aine, the elder),also named Paul (Paolo) (born c.1637-died after 1689) and a younger son, Théophyle de la Pierre, which daughter Jeanne (Giovanna) Constance will become Marc-Roger Normand's spouse in 1725.
Several harpsichord pieces by those composers are handwritten in the Livre de Tablature de Clavescin de Mr. de Druent écrit par Couperin (Marc-Roger Normand), Turin (ca.1695). Minkoff Reprint (1998). Davitt Moroney editor.
A link between this family and Mademoiselle de la Pierre* is plausible but has not been asserted yet.
