Belgian violinist and conductor, born Brussels, studied with Baillot in Paris. Co-founder with Charles de Bez of Société Sainte-Cécile which presented symphonies by Mendelssohn Schumann and French contemporaries (Reber, Gouvy, Saint-Saens) from 1848 to 1854. His Souvenir de Gand for flute and piano was published by Sempre più éditions, Paris, in 2019 Not to be confused with the Belgian painter Franz Seghers (1849-1939)
