Judging by the "never play piano" in the orchestra part, it seems this is more the piano reduction than an instrument in the orchestra, much less the solo instrument; it seems to double the orchestral parts. Indeed, the piano part is marked as a reduction, so probably to be ignored in the orchestral score?
