This Nocturne-Fantasy reflects on the need for change and renewal, born from the quiet realization that routine and daily frenzy dull our sensitivity to the world around us. We rarely pause to notice details, to observe, to feel—and this loss of attention slowly turns us into automatons.
In this piano work, the composer describes a personal turning point expressed through three distinct stylistic “souls”: a decadent, hazy, almost evanescent lyricism; a romantic, passionate and at times dramatic expressiveness; and an impressionistic impulse aimed at capturing fleeting details and moments of stillness.
The piece is deeply autobiographical, shaped by memories, emotions, joy, pain, and love. Rediscovering its melody at the piano felt like a treasure hunt—a process of stopping, observing, breathing, and feeling again. This experience inspired the title Dark Moonlight: a paradoxical glow from a dark, unseen moon. While others rely on its light, the composer entrusts himself to its darkness and to all that it conceals.
