Navigation etc.
I originally named this Despation. The word has no meaning. The original instruments were Trumpet, Flute, and Bass Clarinet. The original recording was performed on my Ensoniq EPS. But after I changed the instrumentation and added the tremolos, I thought it would be fun to subtitle it West Virginia Woodpeckers. The lower two voices are the retrograde of the upper line with the lowest one being transposed down a major second. The second voice comes in 8 eighth notes later than the first and the third comes in 23 eighth notes later than the second. The instrumentation is Vibraphone, Marimba, and Glockenspiel.
