Misc. Notes *file 62855: The words on the first page are written by Elsa Reger (1870-1951), the composer's wife: Meinem lieben Patensohn Max Hanfried Poppen. Zum Andenken. München April 1937. Frau Max Reger. (In memory of my dear godson Max Hanfried Poppen, from Frau Max Reger, Munich April 1937.) --*The noteheads in the manuscript that appear to be X's are simply his way of writing notes that cross a ledger line. (Poppen - perhaps the son of Reger biographer Hermann Poppen, 1885-1956.)

This "urtext" or "scholarly" (scientific) edition was published at least 25 years ago in the EU (or 20 years ago in Italy, before 1992 in the former USSR). Hence, the edition is public domain in its country of origin or a government publication. Such editions are also public domain in Canada because they fail to meet the minimum 'threshold of originality' to qualify for copyright as an 'adaptation'. They may not be public domain elsewhere.
