"Fomalhaut" is a fantasy for organ inspired by the star of the same name, the brightest in the constellation of the Southern Fish, and also one of the brightest stars in the night sky. It was known even in ancient Persia, its name comes from Arabic and it was also included in the Alfonsine Tables. "Fomalhaut" is surrounded by a distinctive dust disk, which may be a protoplanetary disk, and in fact in 2008 the existence of an extrasolar planet called Dagon was announced, orbiting at the edge of the circumstellar ring.
The music is intended to reflect the fascination with outer space, with the solitude of these possible worlds, with the interstellar distances and with the gigantic scale of time that exceeds all human comprehension.
