Extra Information | The absence of ad lib. horn parts suggests that this is either not the concerto published in 1811 as "Concert pour la guitarre, deux violons, violoncelle et 2 cors ad libitum" (see e.g.: WorldCat) or is based on a 1956 or later edition. Since no one here would do the latter (which would be borderline copyright-illegal and, as here, risks attributing to Carulli intentions that perhaps he did not have, e.g. possibly not having included ad lib horn parts with the work, say...) I'm assuming it's not the same concerto. That said, when -was- this concerto first published, and by whom? That seems worth knowing. - ES (It might, like quite a few other Carulli works of the time, be listed in the Bibliographie de la France issues...) |
