This is a neo-classical horn concerto, not as difficult as the 1st horn concerto, but with enough possibilities for the soloist to show off. It was last revised in 2026. The 1st movement is gracious and moderately fast and in sonata form; as sometimes in the Classical period, the soloist comes only in after the orchestral exposition, at 1’30". The 2nd movement is slow and built upon one theme, which is further developed. The final movement is very up-tempo and in a free sonata/rondo form; it contains a short cadenza. The main theme of the finale is challenging high but too catchy not to try. Digital recording in Sibelius Ultimate with NotePerformer 5.
