  • This was also published as No.412 in The English Hymnal (Various), also at hymnary.org.
  • Ewing apparently only wrote the tune to this, and in the 1861 hymnal, the hymn does not credit the person who did the harmonization. However, the title page says the collection was "compiled and arranged under the musical editorship of William Henry Monk". He was himself an organist, so the strong possibility is that the harmonization is his.
