Published in 1903 in Music of Ireland (O'Neill, Francis) (Chicago: Lyon & Healy) (p.288, no.1559), though it is not known whether that is the first publication. O'Neill credits it to "Ennis". There was a Seamus Ennis who was a famous Irish singer and piper, but he was only born in 1919, so it can't be him.
