  • Grove Music puts this work in the "Questionable or doubtful" category. The attribution to Rossi is from "Ghislanzoni (1955)", but is not confirmed.
  • The Vatican library lists this as a "Cantata a soggetto morale", in other words, a cantata on a moral subject. The classification of these has always been difficult, as they are not overtly religious, and neither "sacred" nor "secular" fits very well. Tagged as sacred.
