Extra Information Lament for Gaza City is a recitative originally written for violin and cello. It is a speechless wail, at times overwhelmed by violence, only at the end showing a timid opening of hope. Its composition was motivated by the current (2023- 2024) paroxysm of brutal violence and destruction taking place in Israel and Palestine, in particular Gaza.
