One of four new editions to appear ca.1900: the others were by Hugo Heermann (Schott, 1898), Waldemar Meyer (Steingraber, 1901) and Richard Hofmann (Zimmermann, 1903). The Hermann version was re-edited by Max Jacobson in 1959 for Peters of New York. Peters of Leipzig (GDR) continued to reprint the Hermann edition into the 1960s.
