Copyright Information The piano reduction by Ferrucio Calusio (1889-1983) is under copyright in Canada until 2034, in 70 pma countries until 2054. There was a renewal of the piano solo arrangement by Ugo Solazzi (1875-1953) and an aria so the work is probably locked up in the USA until January 1, 2020. Manuscripts and full scores of the composer's original, plus the Solazzi's arrangement are eligible for upload as they are free in Canada. The editorial contributions by Toscanini (d.1957) and Tommasini (d.1950) likely place the published scores under copyright in the EU and other 70 pma jurisdictions.

Extra Information *At Boito's death the opera's orchestration was left incomplete. It was clearly notated and virtually complete for Acts 1 to 3 whereas in Act 4 it was in some places still at sketch stage. For more information on the alterations made by Toscanini, Tommasini and Smareglia see Il teatro musicale di Arrigo Boito, in Arrigo Boito musicista e letterato by Paolo Rossini, Nuove Edizioni, 1986.
