This work has been definitively dated to 1698 by Gary Boye (see Journal of Seventeenth-Century Music, Vol.11 (2005) No.1). It is an almost exact copy of, but lower quality than, the work by Pietro Millioni, published before 1661, when an extant reprint was published. It is not clear that an author named Foriano Pico actually existed, rather than being a name created to assign authorship of the "pirated" edition.
