The 2nd oboe concerto is modern-classical (quite modern in comparison with the first) and consists of three movements. The 1st movement is fast and somewhat harsh and tense; it is in sonata form. The 2nd movement is slow and elegiac and is in ABA form. The 3rd movement is fast and playfull and is in a rondo-like form. There are cadenzas in the 1st and 3rd movement.
