Extra Information Partita for Church Organ. This partita is based on a Gregorian Pentecostal hymn which is about 1000 years old. The hymn praises the Holy Spirit. The hymn was probably written in the town Kempten close to the Alps in southern Germany around the year 1000 AD. Here the hymn melody has been used both in its Gregorian shape and in a shape adapted for a hymnal. The key A Major was chosen as in the Roman catholic hymlan Cecilia which is used in the diocese of Stockholm. The partita comprises 9 movements and is introduced by a simple presentation of the hymn for people who not have heard it before. This presentation is not a part of the work. The movements may be performed together in a concert performance, but they may also be used as single pieces, which makes them more usable in services. The work is free for use, performance and recording, free of charge.
