This organ partita is my second Hommage for the organist and composer Hugo Distler from Nürnberg in Southern Germany. It is written with Distlers first organ partita op.8 Nr 1 "Nun komm, der Heidden Heiland" as a direct inspiration. As melody I used a melody from the Swedish choral book, the nr 303 "Det finns en väg till himmelen" (There is a Way to Heaven). This tune is a former traditional folk song from the village Sköldinge in the Swedish province Södermanland (Sörmland). For performers who are not familiar with this folk song, it was added in the beginning as an unaccompanied melody. The score contains a page with the Composer*s Comments in German.
