According to The Musical World (volume 8, ca.1854), composed during Eckert's tour (1851–1853, according to Wikipedia (German)) as an accompanist with Henrietta Sontag in America - around the time of publication he had already returned to Europe and was appointed conductor of the Royal Italian Opera.
