Schirmer's Photoplay Series


History

Issued by Schirmer between 1915 and 1929 these 70 compositions were published in 7 volumes and were intended to be used as musical cues for silent movies. According to the publisher the works were "arranged for small or full orchestra and playable with any lessor combination of instruments which include violin and piano." All but volumes five and six also included harmonium parts.
