Notes (by Anastasia Belina) to Naxos recording give premiere date as 1895 November 16, Moscow (whether this is Julian or Gregorian calendar is not clear. As we use Gregorian calendar here, until this is clear, sticking with 1895 November for now.) Taneev was not pleased with that performance in any case (ill-prepared, etc.) - the 1897 October Czech quartet performance (also in Moscow) was a vast improvement.
