Navigation etc.

The work comprises 4 movements of different characters. Since the setting of all parts is very high, all parts are notated in the treble clef. For the same reason, it is allowed to perform the work with other instrumentation than standard string quartet. It is allowed to replace the viola (alto) by an additional violin III. It is also allowed to replace the violoncello by either a viola (Alto) or an additional violin IV. The last movement is written in the early minimalistic style of Steve Reich. It is allowed to omit the repetitions of the sections and perform the movement as a short version to bring down its length to half the time. The time for performance will then go down to about 20 minutes from 24. The work may be used freely for study, performance and recording.
