Note that the genre (speaking loosely) of quatuor brillant, as cultivated by Spohr also, implies a leading, almost concertante first violin and more accompanimental other parts, and that seems to be the case here (2nd note... Spohr produced some very fine works in the genre, I gather. Am going through this presently with a view to typesetting at least part of it and it looks enjoyable enough- I intend to be descriptive, not prescriptive) (Schissel)
