2. Feeling Baroquey: Well you sure can't beat Bach, but that clearly didn't inhibit me in giving it the old college try (actually again and again.) So this is an exuberantly Bach-ish Allegro, not so much in committed counterpoint but more in the style of the thematic material and its development.
4. A Poignant Feeling: Pretty, gentle, thoroughly “unmodern” Millie... oops, I mean Trio. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this and have observed that performers apparently “share the experience.” You can sniff a bit of a French-y love story kinda sound in this piece, which makes it that much more appealing.
5. Pops Wedding Music: A gift for my daughter's wedding, which took place in a vineyard near Palo Alto. That was about twelve years ago and the marriage still is working which proves the power of music. Although tongue firmly resides in cheek, a re-harmonization and manipulation of the Wagner material is quite poignant (losing a daughter and gaining a son, as they say).
