Extra Information The symphony was inspired by poems by Semyon Kirsanov (1906-1972) and Demyan Bedny (1883-1945). The composer used a phrase from Kirsanov's poems for the first movement's title, a practice that is not a copyright issue because short phrases and titles aren't copyrightable.
