Taruskin refers in Stravinsky and the Russian Traditions: A Biography of the Works ..., Volumes 1-2 (page 68) to a concert 1904 March 21 that contained the premiere of Lyadov's Baba-Yaga and also this symphony, leading to some remarks from Stravinsky about this composer.

A commercial recording is expected on a Dux 3-CD set in 2021.
