Template talk:Missing

Invisible?

After receiving a tip, I have placed a tag on A Plain and Easy Introduction to Practical Music (Morley, Thomas). It is now categorized, but there is no warning to readers on the workpage, as I would have expected. Shouldnt there be something like {{missing|page numbers}} displaying a tag with "pages -- are missing"? Btw, is there a general list of templates? Richard Mix 03:32, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Richard,
Yes, the template is more or less invisible, aside from adding the target page to the Category:Pages with missing scores – the idea is that you should put {{missing}} followed by a description of what is missing, in the Misc. Notes section of the relevant file(s): as this is usually incredibly specific there did not seem any point to having it included in the template such as {{missing|blah blah blah}}, as it would serve no purpose there.
As for the general list of templates, check out Category:Templates. This is the grouping page for many different sub-categories of templates, some of which are better documented than others. Cheers, Philip @ © talk 04:14, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
