WorldCat only has two entries for this work, both for piano, but both say "arranged from Lanner". Since Lanner was a violinist who ran a dance orchestra, the assumption is that this was originally for that ensemble. However, his earlier works were for string quartet or string orchestra. so unless original parts are uploaded, it is not known whether this was for string orchestra or full orchestra.
