This is a collection Foster did featuring the flute. Since the violin plays in the same range, it can also be the solo instument. There are 4 sections: Solo, Duet, Trio, and Quartet. The melodies are borrowed from other songs and piano pieces, including some of Foster's.
While the scores to the "quartets" only mention flute, 2 violins, and "bass", the individual parts include "cello" but no "bass", and then viola and piano parts as well. Tagged for both the quartet and fuller possibilities, but if an original scan is ever uploaded, it would be a good idea to check these and correct tags if necessary.
